Luna's Quiet Corner
Share
Luna was never the loudest member of the family. She preferred the corner of the bookshelf, where the afternoon sun warmed the wood and someone was almost always nearby reading. She would appear without a sound, curl beside the books, and begin to purr before a hand even reached for her.
When Luna passed, the empty shelf felt larger than it should have. Her family created a quiet memorial in the place she had chosen for herself. A black wooden pet urn now sits among the clothbound books, its gold cat-and-dog design glowing softly in the late-day light. The small window is ready for her favorite photograph, while a trailing green plant brings a gentle sense of life to the corner.
There are no grand ceremonies there. Sometimes someone pauses to straighten her picture. Sometimes a favorite story is read in the same chair. On difficult days, simply seeing her familiar face is enough to make the room feel less empty.
Luna's memorial is simple, private, and close to the rhythm of home—just as she was. It keeps her memory beside the people, books, and peaceful afternoons she loved most.
