Milo's Place by the Window
Share
Every morning, Milo waited beside the kitchen window for the first patch of sunlight to reach the floor. He knew exactly where it would land. By the time the coffee was ready, he would already be stretched across it, tail tapping whenever someone said his name.
After fourteen years of muddy walks, stolen socks, and quiet companionship, the house felt impossibly still without him. His family did not want to hide his memory away. They chose a warm mahogany photo urn and placed it on the console near that same window. Inside the frame went their favorite photograph: Milo standing in a field, looking as though another adventure had just begun. His brown collar rests nearby, its tag catching the morning light.
The memorial did not make them miss him less. It gave their love a familiar place to return to. Now, when sunlight moves across the room, they remember the sound of his paws, the eager circle before breakfast, and the patient eyes that followed them everywhere.
Milo is no longer waiting by the window, but the warmth he brought into their home still arrives every morning.
